Children’s Ministry

At First Baptist Church Keller, we believe that there is no age too young for a child to learn about God. We offer ministry for infants and toddlers through fourth grade.  We provide a safe, clean, and loving environment for them as they grow closer to Jesus. We are a ministry, striving to lead your children in the ways of Christ, not just a babysitting service. Your children are our primary concern, both physically and spiritually.

Please see all the opportunities we have for your children to grow in their spiritual walk. Our classrooms are located on the first and second floors near the south entrance of the church.

Sundays

Sunday School is offered for children in grades K-4 both at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  Loving Christian adults teach God’s Word in such a way that it applies to the daily lives of our children.  We group the children by grades in order for the teaching to be age-appropriate educationally as well as spiritually. Using LifeWay’s The Gospel Project curriculum, we invite you to explore its Scope and Sequence, Levels of Learning, and parent resources through the links on this page.

Security:

  • Parents of kindergarteners must drop off and pick up their children.  You will receive a security tag (number matches that of their child’s nametag) upon entering the downstairs children’s area, and must present that matching tag to retrieve your child.
  • Doors into our Preschool and Children’s areas are locked. Families who attend regularly are assigned a code which allows access to these areas. Visitors are encouraged to check-in with our Children’s Ministry staff who will provided needed access.
  • Parents of first and second graders are asked to drop off and pick up your children at their classroom, although a security tag is not required for these ages.

A special class is offered once a quarter for children who have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ or who have questions about salvation. The New Christians Class meets on Sunday mornings.

Bible Memory for Kids

Bible Memory for Kids (BM4K) is an 8-week class for 1st – 3rd graders where children are challenged to learn 8 Bible verses.

Wednesdays

Missions Activities – Mission Friends, R.A.s, and G.A.s

Our children’s mission organizations meet during the school year on Wednesday night from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. We have organizations for preschoolers and elementary age boys and girls.

Mission Friends
Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.

Mission Friends is designed for our children who are three years old through kindergarten age. In this program, children learn about different missionaries, their family life, and where they live. A primary focus at this age is an awareness of other cultures and places because Jesus loves all people, even different cultures. They learn to share stories of Jesus at home and with friends.

Royal Ambassadors (R.A.s)
Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.

R.A.s is a missions education program for boys in the first through sixth grade. Our emphasis is to teach these young men how to be Christ-like and how to carry the message of Christ around the world. We do this through stories, videos, scripture memory, Bible study and activities during class times. Each week in the R.A. program, we learn about different missionaries and how God uses them to spread His Word to all corners of the globe. The emphasis is not just on what others are doing but on how we can be “On Mission” as well. R.A.s learn about the saving power of Jesus Christ and that everyone needs to accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

We also have special missionary speakers from time to time and the monthly Gym Night is always a hit with these active guys. In addition, the R.A. calendar is packed full of fun events. These events give the boys a chance to do things boys love to do, like race pinewood derby cars and go camping.

Girls in Action (G.A.s)
Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.

G.A.s is for girls in the first through sixth grade. The focus is on learning what a missionary is, the difference between home and foreign missionaries, and what a missionary does. To apply their learning, the girls become involved in mission activities in the home and in our surrounding communities.
