Children's Choirs

We have a fully-graded Worship Arts program here at First Baptist Church Keller.  Each Wednesday night throughout the school year, children ages preschool through sixth grade learn how to praise God, work with each other, and develop their musical skills as well as learn other skills they can use in worship such as art and drama.  The students learn the basic skills of musicmaking including rhythm, pitch, meter, and tempo and put them into use through singing, movement, and instruments.  In addition, some grades also have instruction in art, drama, recorder, and guitar. 

These groups participate regularly in our worship services and present five special demonstrations each year: Dates are listed below.

If you are interested in having your child be a part of Worship Arts for Kids, please contact Stacy Porter, Director of Church Music Education, or the music ministry office.

  • March 3, 10, 24, 31 - Preschool Love Your Instrument Month
  • March 31 - Grades 1-6 demonstration night
  • April 18 - Grades 1 and 2 lead in worship at 9:30 and 11:00
  • April 25 - Grades 3 and 4 lead in worship at 9:30 and 11:00
  • May 2 - Grades 5 and 6 lead in worship at 9:30 and 11:00
  • May 5 - WAK 3-year old demonstration in their room
  • May 5 - Grades 1-5 Demonstration night
  • May 12 - 4-year old demonstration in their room
  • May 12 - Grade 6 has WAK for 2 hours, no missions
  • May 19 - Preschool WAK meets
  • May 19 - Missions Night - no WAK for grades 1-6
  • May 26 - Kindergarten demonstration in their room
  • May 26 - 6th grade demonstration night
  • May 26 - Final night for WAK

Do you love children?  Are you available on Wednesday evening from 5:45 to 7:00 P. M.?  Then perhaps Children's Choirs are a place for you to serve.

There are opportunities for the trained and the untrained, the musical and the unmusical.
