The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church is for people of all ages and musical experiences. As a church, our goal is to love God, to love our fellow Christians, and to love the world. The music ministry plays an important role in helping the church accomplish its mission.
The Worship Arts for Kids ministry offers music instruction for children ages preschool through 6th grade. The children are taught the importance of music and worship in an enjoyable environment.
Our Student Music ministry provides middle school and high school students with opportunities to develop their musical skills and put them to use in the Kingdom of God. This exciting part of the music ministry participates in worship regularly, presents seasonal concerts, and tours throughout the United States on an annual basis.
Our Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra lead in worship each week and present several programs throughout the year. Ranging from Christmas programs to our annual Guest Composer concert, the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra provide the church with tremendous worship opportunities.
The FBC Orchestra is part of our Instrumental Ministry, along with smaller ensembles like the Jazz Band and Trombone Choir. In addition to the orchestral music, we have handbell groups for children, youth, and adults.
Many smaller ensembles participate in worship regularly and provide exciting concerts and worship experiences. With groups that perform music differing from southern gospel to contemporary praise and worship, we have an ensemble to fit almost any musical style.
Our Fine Arts Academy provides superior musical instruction for students of all ages. Over 200 students receive lessons each week in areas such as piano, voice, guitar, violin, and many others.
